Frequently Asked Questions

Black outline of a question mark inside a speech bubble.

Why a day rate instead of hourly?

Hourly billing often penalizes customers for travel time, setup, and unpredictable delays. The Day Rate removes that friction by giving you a flat, predictable cost for a full day of on-site welding.

Instead of watching the clock, you can load up a repair list and get as much done as possible in one visit. The result is better productivity, clearer budgeting, and fewer surprises.

Additional Note:  For smaller or localized jobs, hourly service is still available. Hourly work is billed with a 2-hour minimum and is best suited for short-duration repairs that don’t require a full day on-site. If you’re unsure which option makes the most sense, a quick call can help determine the most cost-effective approach.

What if we finish early?

The Day Rate reserves a full day of welding capability for your operation. If the work is completed early, you’ve still received dedicated on-site support and priority scheduling for that day.

Many customers choose to plan additional repairs, reinforcements, or preventative weld work to make the most of the scheduled time.

What if we need more than one day?

No problem. Additional days can be scheduled as needed, subject to availability. Many customers book multiple consecutive days when large repair lists or major projects are involved.

There’s no long-term commitment—each day is scheduled independently.

Do you replace full-time welders?

Welding Services is not intended to replace strong in-house maintenance teams. The Day Rate works best as:

  • Overflow support when workloads spike
  • A stop-gap during hiring gaps
  • A cost-effective alternative when welding demand is inconsistent

You get welding capability only when you need it, without carrying additional headcount.

What certifications do you carry?

The owner/operator has previously held ASME, AWS, and API certifications and brings over 30 years of heavy-steel welding experience across industrial, scrap, and field environments.

If specific documentation or project requirements apply, they can be discussed prior to scheduling.

What equipment can you work on?

Welding Services focuses on heavy steel and field repairs, including:

  • Buckets, booms, sticks, and attachments
  • Frames, wear areas, and structural components
  • Scrap and recycling equipment (shears, shredders, balers)
  • Excavation, demolition, and industrial equipment
  • Structural steel and on-site fabrication

If it’s steel and it’s broken—or needs reinforcement—it can usually be handled on-site.

Still Have Questions?

Every operation is different. If you’re unsure whether the Day Rate is the right fit, a quick phone call can usually answer that.
